Amani Public Charter School’s name means safety and peace
AMANI — The word “amani” in the name of the Amani Public Charter School means safety and peace.
“The name Amani came from Swahili,” said Mrs. Stern, who is the executive director of the school. She also said that the name stands for peace and safety for the nation.
Mrs. Stern said that Amani was created in 2010, when the state gave permission for the school to form.
