School library is offering amnesty for books that haven’t been returned
AMANI LIBRARY– Books have gone missing from the Amani Public Charter School library.
Scholars borrow books in the library and don’t return them or steal them.
“People are stealing books,” said Ms. Chin, the librarian. “It happens in study hall or when we have not or enough Chromebooks.”
Scholars who are accountable have turned in books. They get a 5 dollar bonus for every book turned in.
“There are about 8,000 books in the library, including the books in classes,” said Ms. Chin. “I encourage student reading because I loved to read and it made me smarter.”
